Community Forestry and Outdoor Education
I served as an intern with Learning Among the Oaks in Santa Margarita. This nonprofit outdoor education and outreach program provides leadership opportunities for 5th and 6th grade students through an Oak Ambassador program. The Learning Among the Oaks trail is an opportunity for k-6th grade students to learn about oak woodland ecology through grade specific and curriculum based hikes.
As an intern I helped the program develop their Oak Ambassador training program, planned, prepared and led hikes. I also helped develop the logo shown at the bottom of this page.
